Overview

Students are grouped in classes according to age and ability.  Class sizes are generally about 8 students per group and classrooms are staffed with a teacher and two teacher assistants.  All staff are fully qualified with special education qualifications and are enthusiastic in the preparation and delivery of interesting and appropriate curriculum activities for all students.

VELS

Victorian Education Learning Standards provide a framework for developing effective learning programs and mapping, monitoring and assessing our students working towards level one. Classroom teachers supported by teacher assistants are responsible for progressing students from pre intentional to intentional states in each curriculum area as indicated through the students with disabilities guidlines  . The content of the Strands varies from the Junior to the Senior school and is geared towards the achievement of age appropriate learning goals, developing independence by exploring and participating in the world around them.  At all levels, daily living skills are a priority.

The Victorian Essential Learning Standards curriculum addresses the following Strands of learning:
